The suspect identified as 48-year-old Malcolm Jimmy Ward Jr. was apprehended without resistance. The victim a resident of Venice was left shaken and with minor injuries after Malcolm Jimmy Ward Jr. reportedly grabbed her ponytail from behind causing her to fall to the ground. Malcolm Jimmy Ward Jr. then allegedly attempted to drag her towards the restrooms. Fortunately several bystanders stepped in to help alerting the authorities to the ongoing assault. Their quick actions likely prevented a more serious outcome. The victim whose age was not disclosed informed investigators that she feared Malcolm Jimmy Ward Jr. intended to sexually assault her.
