According to TheBlaze, after 23 years there’s finally progress in Tara Louise Baker’s tragic case. Edrick Lamont Faust, 48, has been charged with her murder and other crimes. Baker was found dead in her apartment in January 2001 after a fire, which turned out to be arson. Her loved ones have been waiting for answers since then.

Law Enforcement Persistence Pays Off: GBI’s Cold Case Unit and Athens-Clarke County Police Lead to Arrest in Tara Louise Baker Case

The arrest of Faust is thanks to the hard work of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation‘s cold case unit and the Athens-Clarke County police. They looked into the case thoroughly in September 2023. GBI Director Chris Hosey hopes this brings some comfort to Baker’s family. But there’s still more to do to make sure her family gets the justice they need.
