Man Charged with Hate Crime Stabbing in Northwest DC: Reginald Pickett Arrested for Assault
On Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at approximately 6:15 p.m., a man was arrested for stabbing individuals inside a business on New York Avenue, Northwest, according to the crime report of MPDC. The victims, who were ordering food were threatened with a knife and subjected to derogatory racial comments by the assailant. Another victim attempting to intervene was also stabbed. The suspect, identified as 63-year-old Reginald Pickett from Northeast, DC has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). The incident is being investigated as a hate crime by the police, with assistance from the Special Liaison Branch. Despite their fear and injuries the victims are receiving support.
