Money From A Medical Device Company

Wright & Filipps, a prosthetics and medical device company, is paying out $2.9 million in settlement money after a data breach lawsuit.

The medical device company’s breach lawsuit compromised patient names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, health insurance data, and other sensitive information.

Those affected by the medical company’s breach lawsuit may qualify for up to $5,000 in compensation for data breach-related expenses.

Options for payment from the said medical device company include documented losses, cash payment without documentation, or a year of free credit monitoring and insurance services.

Claims regarding the lawsuit of the mentioned medical device company can be filed online by May 8, 2024.

According to a published article by SmartNews, class action lawsuits, like this one that involves a medical device company, allow groups of people to band together in court against a company that allegedly wronged them.

Data breaches are common, aside from the mentioned medical device company, other medical manufacturers such as Lincare Holdings and Norwood Clinic have also paid out settlements for similar breaches.

A New Medical Device Company In China

In a published article by Xinhua News, a German medical device company, Fresenius Kabi, is expanding its investment in China, specifically in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province.

The company’s manufacturing facility is operating efficiently, with production tasks planned until 2030.

Christian Hauer, a member of the management board, visited the facility and expressed satisfaction with the progress.

The company has been investing in Nanchang since 2002, with total investment reaching nearly 600 million yuan.

The Chinese market’s growth potential and favorable business environment have encouraged Fresenius Kabi to invest further in China.
