A terrifying occurrence occurred in Lehighton Borough, Pennsylvania, where a 30-year-old man named Zak Moyer is accused of carrying out a terrifying attack on his 59-year-old neighbor Edward Whitehead Jr. while dressed in a costume evoking the famous “Scream” slasher. On Monday, March 25, authorities responded to a distress call and found Whitehead severely injured. They think Moyer used a chainsaw and knife on Whitehead. Shortly after being brought to a neighboring hospital, Whitehead passed away from his wounds despite attempts to revive him. The Lehighton Borough Police Department was the first to respond, and after tracking Moyer to a house on Carbon Street, where he allegedly barricaded himself, Pennsylvania State Police took over the investigation.

According to True Crime Daily, Court records disclose unsettling information about Moyer’s purported motivation, suggesting that he planned to intimidate Whitehead by assuming the role of the “Scream” villain. Whitehead allegedly suffered many wounds after Moyer attacked him with the chainsaw and knife before escaping the area. Moyer spoke with officials during the standoff, leveling unfounded accusations against Whitehead that the police were unable to verify. Moyer is said to have told his sister that he wanted to hurt Whitehead violently before the attack. The terrifying details of the alleged crime were revealed after a search of Moyer’s home after his arrest on accusations of criminal homicide turned up the incriminating goods, including the knife, chainsaw, and unsettling “Scream” costume.
