The incident which unfolded on the evening of January 11 2020 began with a simple honk from victim Bui when the defendant Lawrence encroached into her lane. However Lawrence’s response spiraled into a violent confrontation as he pursued Bui to her apartment complex where he physically assaulted her. Tragically Bui’s boyfriend Ackerman intervened attempting to document Lawrence’s behavior only to find himself targeted by the aggressor’s lethal actions. Prosecutors revealed that Lawrence recklessly pursued and struck Ackerman with his truck ultimately claiming his life.
