Senator Harckham Proposes Solar Panel Installations
Committee Reviews Plan
According to Spectrum News, New York State Senator Pete Harckham, who leads the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee, has proposed a new idea to encourage more people to use solar energy. His solar panel installations plan is still being looked at by a group called the committee. Under his solar panel installations plan people who switch to solar panels on their roofs could get a big discount on their taxes. They could get up to $10,000 per household. Advancing Solar Adoption in New York
Senator Harckham thinks this solar panel installations plan could help many New Yorkers use solar energy. By giving them money back on their taxes it would be easier for people to afford to install solar panels. This way more people can help protect the environment by using cleaner energy sources. The solar panel installations plan also fits with New York’s goal of using more renewable energy and reducing pollution. If the committee agrees and the plan becomes law it could be a big step forward for solar energy in New York.
