Benefytt and Assurance IQ Agree to $13.5 Million Settlement Despite Denying Wrongdoing
According to the U.S. Sun, A lawsuit has been settled because two companies, Benefytt and Assurance IQ were accused of lying about their medical insurance plans. They said some medical insurance plans were better than they were. Even though the companies didn’t admit they did anything wrong they agreed to pay $13.5 million to settle the case.

Eligibility Criteria for Settlement Claims and Another Company Agrees to Compensation in Discrimination Case
To get some money from the settlement you have to meet certain rules. You must have bought one of their medical insurance plans between May 5, 2016, and December 1, 2023, and you must not have gotten all your money back. You don’t need to show proof of your medical expenses but you have to file a claim by April 15, 2024. Another company, Vee Pak, agreed to pay $6.6 million because they were accused of treating Black people unfairly when hiring them. This happened between January 1, 2011, and January 16, 2018. Even though Vee Pak says they didn’t do anything wrong they agreed to pay money to people who applied for jobs but weren’t hired during that time.
