Two Abandoned Dogs Spark Search for Suspect

On March 5, two white terrier dogs were pushed out of a vehicle at Sunken Meadow Park. Anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the person responsible for abandoning the dogs can receive a reward of up to $5,000.

Authorities Seek Suspect Who Abandoned the Dogs

King’s Park authorities are asking the public for assistance in finding the individual responsible for the two abandoned dogs at Sunken Meadow Park on March 5. The unknown individual pushed the dogs out of the SUV, vehicle color might have been tan or gold, according to Long Island. Witnesses claimed the two white terriers running around the park after being left behind.

They were brought to the Smithtown Animal Shelter and were found to be covered in ticks. They also lack any form of identification such as microchips.

Anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the person responsible for abandoning the dogs can receive a reward of up to $5,000 from the District Attorney’s Officer, Police Department, and Crime Stoppers of Suffolk County. Adoptable Dog ‘Louise’ Still Looking for a Loving Home

The abandoned dogs have been dubbed “Thelma and Louise” after the adventurous duo from the 1991 film, reported by Greater Long Island. Both are white terriers. Thelma, about 4 years old, has found a new home already. However, Louise, about 2 years old, is still looking for a loving home.

After being abandoned on March 5, Thelma and Louise were brought to the shelter. Both were covered in ticks and did not have any form of identification. They were quickly adored by the shelter staff and volunteers. Anyone who could offer a home to Louise can submit an online adoption application to the Town of Smithtown Animal Shelter.
