Monique Gonzalez received money from a guaranteed income program in San Antonio. The money she got from the guaranteed income program was used to buy school supplies, shoes, and Christmas gifts for her children.

The guaranteed income program provided cash payments to low-income individuals. The guaranteed income program also allows them to afford necessities and alleviate financial stress.

Participants of the guaranteed income program reported using the money to secure housing, afford transportation, pay off debt, and improve their mental health.

According to a published article by SmartNews, the guaranteed income program received funding from the City of San Antonio, foundations, and private funders.

Participants of the guaranteed income program expressed feeling happier, supported, and more financially secure as a result of the basic income payments.

Gas Prices In San Antonio

In a published article by KSAT, gas prices in the San Antonio area have increased to $2.99 per gallon of regular unleaded fuel, which is a 13-cent increase from last week.

The statewide average in Texas is $3.04, with El Paso having the highest average price at $3.43 and McAllen the lowest at $2.89. The national average is $3.41, with prices expected to increase as more people hit the road for spring break.

Despite the increase, this year is not the most expensive spring break for fuel in Texas compared to the last decade.
