Tacoma’s GRIT program is set to help low-income families in terms of their financial stability.
Tahoma’s GRIT Program
The GRIT program in Tacoma, Washington will provide $500 per month for a year to low-income families in select zip codes.
Applicants of the GRIT Program must be single heads of households with children, meet specific income criteria, and reside in designated zip codes.
The GRIT program aims to provide financial stability, home security, and mental health support.
Applications for the GRIT Program opened on March 1 and 175 families will be randomly chosen to receive the economic stimulus.
According to a published article by Marca.com, notifications about the GRIT Program will be sent on March 20, and approved recipients of the GRIT Program will start receiving payments in April.
Arkansas Tech University Honor Students
In a published article by ATU News, Arkansas Tech University and its honor students in criminal justice and sociology are continuing their GRIT program by providing care packages to juvenile probation offices located in Arkansas.
The packages they provided included food, hygiene products, college prep materials, and encouragement letters. Dr. Jason Ulsperger, the program advisor, is proud of the impact they are making and plans to bring foster children for campus visits.
