Lawmakers are talking about a bill from Senate President Troy Jackson. This bill suggests giving the Sea Dogs a tax credit of up to $1 million to help pay for the renovations. The Sea Dogs have been a prominent fixture in Portland and boasting a substantial fan base with an average attendance exceeding 6,000 per game during the 2023 season. Their lease with the city owned ballpark extends through 2028 and their affiliation with the Boston Red Sox is secured until 2030.
