According to Hi-Line Today, the USDA is currently in Havre as part of their Farm and Food Workers Relief program assessing if enough individuals meet the criteria for their one time $600 payments aimed at field and livestock workers. Benjamin Wynn from Centro De Familia is the organization facilitating these distributions and clarified the program’s objectives during an interview with New Media Broadcasters. He explained that the initiative was initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic and aims to provide financial support to farm workers through a $600 one time payment.

Contrary to a common misconception, Wynn emphasized that the program extends beyond migrant workers. To be eligible for the payment, individuals are required to provide proof of identification and employment and demonstrating at least one hour of work during the pandemic period. This initiative underscores the USDA’s commitment to assisting farm workers during challenging times recognizing their indispensable contributions to the agricultural sector.
