USDA Pledges Support Beyond D-SNAP

To get D-SNAP help, families must live or work in areas hit by the disaster and meet certain rules. They’ll get one month of extra food aid like the most they can get from SNAP, to buy groceries. California will take applications for D-SNAP for seven days starting March 7, 2024. The USDA has also approved other help like replacing lost SNAP benefits and making it easier for people to get food during power outages. Apart from D-SNAP the USDA is helping in other ways too. They’re replacing lost SNAP benefits and making it easier to report food lost during power outages. They’re also allowing childcare programs to serve meals differently.
