According to American Military News, Governor Greg Abbott of Texas is building a large base in Eagle Pass to help Texas National Guard troops deal with what he calls a “border crisis” caused by President Joe Biden’s policies in US-Mexico boarder. This base will be 80 acres big and will have room for 1,800 troops, with space for 500 more if needed. It’s meant to make it easier for the troops to work together and live comfortably while guarding the southern border.T he troops currently face challenges like cramped living spaces and long travel times in the Eagle Pass region. Governor Abbott says the new base is necessary to support the troops and make their work more effective. The base will have good facilities like individual rooms, dining areas, medical services and internet access to keep the troops happy and healthy.

Texas Bolsters Border Security Efforts Amidst Alleged Policy Concerns

Governor Abbott sent troops to the border in 2021 under Operation Lone Star to stop illegal immigration. About 3,000 troops are there now, trying to prevent people from entering the US-Mexico boarder illegally because of what Abbott says are Biden’s policies. Building this new base shows that Texas is serious about protecting its border and supporting the troops who are working there.
