Maricopa County Attorney’s Comments To Manhattan DA
In her interview on Thursday with KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Mike Broomhead Show, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said that it’s not uncommon for a suspect to be tried where he was arrested first, then unto other states where he was also suspected of crimes. Mitchell expects Almansoori’s prosecution to finish over a year depending on many variables. If they found Almansoori to be guilty of the said charges, he is facing a very lengthy prison sentence.
Mitchell is opposed to Almansoori’s extradition to NYC. On Wednesday, she said that she thinks that NYC District Attorney Alvin Bragg is soft on crime. Mitchell thinks that it’s safer to keep Almansoori in her jurisdiction’s custody so he can be stopped harming individuals anywhere in the US.
