Here are all the things you need to know about the tax refund schedule, refund dates, and some delays.
Refund Dates And Delays
The IRS has recently announced the refund dates. Aside from the refund dates, they have also started sending tax refunds for 2023 from February 9, 2024, onwards for those whose e-file was approved by the IRS on January 29.
Those who claimed EITC/ACTC are not part of the announced refund dates as they may face a delay of up to two weeks. 90% of electronically filed refunds are typically received within twenty-one days according to the refund dates announced.
In line with the refund dates, direct deposits also began on February 9, 2024. However, those with errors in their e-file may experience delays that may not coincide with the announced refund dates, and refunds can take up to two weeks to process.
According to a published article by NCB, taxpayers who claim additional credits may have to wait longer than the announced refund dates. A schedule for refund dates has not been released yet, but a calendar based on past trends is provided.
