Solving the Mystery: Jane Doe’s Identity Revealed After Decades, Identified as Robin Fay Hendrick

The woman, estimated to be between 30 to 40 years old and standing at a height of 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, was wearing two distinctive yellow metal bracelets when she was found. Despite efforts by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office and coroner, her identity remained a mystery for years, and the case eventually went cold.

In 2022, authorities submitted Jane Doe’s DNA to the DNA Doe Project, a non-profit organization specializing in identifying unidentified persons through genetic genealogy. Using this method, investigators traced a possible family member, leading them to the woman’s son. By comparing his DNA with the remains, they positively identified the victim as Robin Fay Hendrick, born in 1953.
