The San Bernardino Police Department reported the incident occurred at 8 p.m. Mauk accidentally hit 37-year-old Shawntece Norton’s car in the busy parking lot. Initial examinations showed minor damage and no casualties from the crash.

Instead of an insurance exchange or apology, tragedy ensued. Norton reacted violently as Mauk exited his car to apologize for the small mishap. Witnesses saw a fatal shooting at Walmart.

This terrible crime destroyed Mauk’s family and shocked the community. Matthew Mauk, Mauk’s oldest son, told local news agencies that the family was devastated. He portrayed his father as a strong man and a loving grandfather, emphasizing the family’s grief.

Community Demands Justice for Jonathan Mauk

Norton was arrested and charged with murder shortly after the incident. She is ineligible for bond at the West Valley Detention Center notwithstanding her not guilty plea. Mauk’s family will attentively observe the February 15th court hearings to seek justice for their dad.
