The Tennessee Titans are reportedly hiring Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as their next head coach, which could affect the Cleveland Browns and their offensive line coach, Bill Callahan, Brian’s father.
Titans’ Coaching Shift Sparks Speculation on Father-Son Duo’s NFL Journey
Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network expects Brian Callahan to replace Mike Vrabel as Titans head coach. This decision could impact the Bengals, but it also raises questions about the Browns and Bill Callahan’s son’s Titans coaching staff.
Browns offensive line coach Bill Callahan was a key hire by head coach Kevin Stefanski. The Browns have benefited from Callahan’s offensive line coaching and offensive coordinator experience. His expertise may help his son, Brian, become an NFL head coach.
Bill Callahan, 67, was not expected to stay with the Browns forever. As long as he coaches, the squad would like to keep him. His desire to join the Titans and help his son is unlikely to be blocked by the Browns. The organization respects the father’s desire to help his son in this unusual situation.

Potential Replacements for Callahan as Titans Beckon
If Callahan leaves, the Browns must find a new offensive line coach. Scott Peters, Callahan’s assistant for four seasons, is a candidate due to his experience with the club and players. Peters has gained recognition and learned from Callahan.
Alternatively, the Browns may look elsewhere. Andy Dickerson, Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach, was interviewed for the offensive coordinator role and might replace Callahan. Dickerson may coach the offensive line while Peters remains assistant.
Over the previous four seasons, Callahan has helped the Browns’ offensive line. Callahan helped the Browns reach the playoffs in 2023 despite losing three offensive tackles. His departure would cost the Browns a lot and shape their offensive coaching staff.
