According to the recent news report of ABC News, the Sarasota Police Department has decided not to press charges against Christian Ziegler, the ex-chair of the Florida Republican Party, in connection with alleged sexual assault. However, Ziegler now faces video voyeurism accusations after reportedly filming a consensual encounter without the woman’s consent. The incident came to light in October, implicating Ziegler and his wife, Bridget Ziegler, co-founder of Moms for Liberty. Despite Ziegler’s denial and cooperation with investigators, a probable cause affidavit for video voyeurism has been forwarded.
Investigation Outcomes
Following extensive investigations, police uncovered a video allegedly recorded by Ziegler showing a consensual encounter, but without the woman’s consent to being filmed.
Detectives were unable to establish probable cause for sexual battery charges, leading to the decision not to charge Ziegler for sexual assault.
The video voyeurism probable cause affidavit has been sent to the State Attorney’s Office for further review.
