Delaware, the nation’s oldest state, is facing a concerning reality as a recent analysis by RoadSnacks exposes the 10 most dangerous cities in the state for 2022. The examination of the latest FBI crime report data reveals a pattern that suggests crime rates in the state are more alarming than initially perceived. Despite not being among the top ten most dangerous states in the country, the urgency for effective solutions to address crime within its most perilous locales becomes apparent.

Wilmington’s Troubling Crime Epicenter: Urgent Measures Needed

The largest city in Delaware, Wilmington, has drawn attention because it leads the state in both violent and property crimes. With a population of 70,100, the community earned the unwelcome distinction of being the most violent city in the state in 2020 after recording 31 murders.

The need for action to protect the safety and security of Wilmington’s citizens has increased due to the city’s highest violent crime rate of 1,590 per 100,000 residents.

Even though it moved up from being ranked as the fourth most dangerous in 2021, the ongoing crime rates highlight the urgency of taking urgent action.
