Urgent Deadline for Unclaimed Powerball Prize
As the office will be closed on January 15 in commemoration of Martin Luther King Day, the official expiration date, the Kentucky Lottery underlines the urgent necessity for the ticket holder to come forward before January 12. This is because the window of opportunity will be closed. Failure to claim the prize in time will result in the funds being allocated to the state’s Unclaimed Prize Fund, which supports educational scholarships.
Lottery officials express bewilderment over the delay in claiming the substantial $1,000,000 prize, urging players to recheck their tickets diligently. The ticket matched the numbers seven, 10, 11, 13, and 24, missing only the Power Ball of 24 for the draw held in July.
Highlighting the rare nature of such unclaimed prizes, the President of the Kentucky Lottery, Mary Harville, remains hopeful of finding the rightful owner and awarding them their well-deserved reward.

Coinciding with the urgency in Kentucky, officials in Houston, Texas, are also urging the winner of a $1,000,000 Powerball prize from a draw held on July 19, 2023, to come forward before the looming deadlines.
Players in other states, including Arizona and Pennsylvania, are encouraged to check their tickets for unclaimed million-dollar prizes, underscoring the significance of reviewing lottery tickets diligently.
