Oklahoma Lawmakers Enact Caring for Caregivers Act to Provide Financial Support

Oklahoma lawmakers enacted the trailblazing Caring for Caregivers Act to help locals care for aging family members financially. The Act will provide tax credits of up to $3,000 to caregivers of elderly loved ones. This major financial aid is for those who need to improve their house or a family member’s home for health or mobility reasons.

Tax credits can be used for home upgrades and family support equipment. This direct payment can be used for aides, respite, adult day care, personal attendants, and specialized technology in home health care.

According to the law, the Caring for Caregivers Act intends to reduce financial stress and improve care for senior family members, especially those over 62 who need help with various critical chores.

This effort shows the state’s dedication to helping families care for loved ones, said Representative Tammy West. From her own experience caring for her grandparents, West underlined the physical, emotional, and financial energies needed for this noble duty.
