Missouri’s 10 most Dangerous cities:

  1. Bellefontaine Neighbours – 2020 saw 1,021 crimes – Mostly robbery, vehicle theft, property destruction, and violent assault.
  2. Carthage – A high crime rate of 100.78 per 1,000 residents – Mostly drug-related, property, and violent crimes.
  3. St. Joseph – 8,002 offenses, 107.15 per 1,000 residents. – A rise in violent crime since the mid-1990s.
  4. Union – There were 108.32 crimes per 1,000 people – Mostly stealing, property destruction, and attacks
  5. Rolla – Reported 110.17 offenses per 1,000 residents; 116 violent – Increased violent crime since the 1980s related to aggravated assault
  6. Kansas City – Crime rate: 94.54/1,000 – 176 murders in 2020, most since 1985
  7. Kennett – 125.14 crimes per 1,000 people – Increased aggravated assaults
  8. Joplin – 137.33 crimes per 1,000 residents – Increased violent crimes but decreased property offenses
  9. St. Louis – High crime rate, 0.87 murders per 1,000 people – 6,017 violent offenses in a 300,000-person city.
  10. Springfield – The state’s highest crime rate is 144.56 per 1,000 – Victimization is 1 in 8 for residents.
