The high inflation rate has affected millions of Americans across the country and are facing financial challenges. With this, the Social Security Administration said that millions of Americans will receive an increased amount of Supplemental Security Income.

In a published article in MARCA, this increase is due to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) 2023. The Social Security Administration said that the COLA for 2024 will increase by 3.2 percent. This means that eligible recipients will receive extra cash this December 2023.

When Will You Receive the Extra Cash?

According to a published article in NASDAQ, the new and increased Social Supplemental Income will be sent early this month instead of January 2024. However, those who have already received their payments will receive their SSI in January 2024.

Furthermore, there are only two reasons that the payment will not arrive; it could be that the regular payment date falls on a holiday or a weekend. The first of the month in January 2024 falls on a holiday. In this instance, they send the check earlier on the nearest business day, which will be a Friday in this case.
