November payments from California’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which may total up to $1,751, are due to low-income households in seven days.
The federal SNAP program, which is referred to as CalFresh in the Golden State, started paying out on the first of each month and runs until November 10. Depending on the recipient’s case number, payments will be made to low-income households that meet the eligibility requirements.
For instance, California participants may anticipate receiving their CalFresh payments on November 1 if their case number ends in 1. On November 2, SNAP benefits will be accessible if a case number ends in two. The payment dates run until November 10th, at which point those whose case numbers finish in 0 will get paid.
California families must earn at least 130% of the federal poverty threshold each month in order to be eligible for SNAP benefits. For a single household, the maximum payment is $291; for a household of four, it is $973; and for a household of eight, it is $1,751. After eight, each additional family member’s food stamp benefit is increased by up to $219.
Every month, SNAP beneficiaries load their benefits onto an electronic benefits transfer card, which they may use to buy qualifying goods at grocery shops, including fruits, vegetables, bread, meat and poultry, and beverages. It is prohibited for recipients to use their SNAP benefits to purchase pet food, alcoholic beverages, or home goods like paper towels and soap.
Based on estimates from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities for 2022, almost 5 million Californians—or roughly 13% of the state’s population—receive CalFresh assistance each month.

CalFresh Program
CalFresh is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for California. In the state of California, a county-run system administers this federal program. Its goals are to give low-income people and households monthly access to nutritious food and financial support for underprivileged areas.
CalFresh, California’s main food program, acts as a key safety net in the battle against hunger and food deprivation. The program’s benefits are utilized to purchase wholesome foods that contribute to a healthy diet. It makes healthy food alternatives, including basics, fruits, and vegetables, more affordable for qualifying people and families by stretching food budgets.
The size of a household, monthly income, and costs all affect how much is covered by CalFresh. Every CalFresh beneficiary receives their benefits on an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card each month. Any market or grocery shop that takes EBT cards is a place where they may purchase food.
CalFresh is intended for low-income individuals who fulfill federal income qualifying requirements and wish to increase their budget in order to provide their family with wholesome meals.
The following Californian resident groups meet the qualifying requirements for CalFresh:
- Any family or person in California that makes little to no money, including those who are homeless
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Recipients
- Candidates who are CalWORKS or CAAP eligible may also apply for CalFresh as part of their application for those programs.
- Students that are eligible and enrolled in higher education
- Visa holders and authorized permanent residents
The CalFresh benefit program can be applied for in a few different ways:

Federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the CalFresh Program provides monthly electronic benefits that may be used to purchase the majority of commodities at various markets and grocery shops. The CalFresh Program gives eligible families and people a way to satisfy their nutritional needs, which promotes their health and general well-being.
Benefits from CalFresh Food may become available to SSI/SSP users for the first time on June 1, 2019! The monthly payout for SSI and SSP remains unchanged.
