Major Drug Bust Leads to Arrest for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in Port Jervis
Whatley’s Arrest Unveils Charges, Including Criminal Possession of a Weapon
According to news12.com, In a recent drug and criminal possession of a weapon bust in Port Jervis 48-year-old Rakeem Whatley was arrested after detectives executed a search warrant. Whatley is facing multiple charges, including criminal possession of a weapon.
He is currently held without bail at the Orange County Jail. Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden revealed that Whatley was charged with three counts of drug possession, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest occurred on Coleman Street on October 12 with city detectives carrying it out and receiving assistance from the patrol division.

Seized Contraband and Collaborative Investigation: The Uncovering of Whatley’s Criminal Possession of a Weapon Case
During the arrest, Whatley was found in criminal possession of a weapon, specifically an illegally possessed and loaded 9 mm handgun, along with $2,950 in cash. Additionally, he had 224 grams of cocaine (a combination of powder and crack cocaine), 41 grams of Ecstasy pills, narcotics packaging materials, and a digital scale. Following his arraignment, Whatley was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.
The investigation was a collaborative effort, with Port Jervis Police receiving assistance from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Orange County Drug Task Force, and the Hudson Criminal Analysis Center, all working together to address the case of criminal possession of a weapon and drug-related charges against Whatley.
