Criminal Charges In Flint Water Crisis Case Against 7 Key Figures Dismissed By Michigan Supreme Court

The Michigan Supreme Court recently approved a lower court ruling that dismissed the criminal charges in connection with the Flint Water Crisis case. Reports say there are seven key figures who were charged for their alleged involvement with the public health crisis.

On September 20, the Michigan Supreme Court approved a lower court ruling that dismissed the criminal charges filed against seven key figures for their alleged involvement in the Flint Water Crisis case.

According to Nichols, the highest court decided that a judge who is acting as a one-person grand jury does not have the authority to issue any indictment. Nonetheless, City Mayor Sheldon Neeley maintained that the state’s Supreme Court is obliged to hear the Flint Water Crisis case for the residents of the city.

Opinion on Flint Water Crisis Case Dismissal

An article in WNEM states that the Flint Water Prosecution Team released a statement in connection with the dismissal of the Flint Water Crisis case which expressed their dissatisfaction with the Michigan Supreme Court’s ruling.

Reports say the statement maintained that the Flint Water Crisis case was not an act of nature but rather caused by a small group of influential people who chose financial savings over public health and thereafter conspired to hide the truth from the residents of Flint.
