Houston Rockets guard Kevin Porter was seized by the police on Monday for allegedly attacking his former WNBA player girlfriend until covered with blood in a New York City hotel room.

Kevin Porter’s Incident Report

Kevin Porter, an NBA star who previously abused his girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick by crashing his car into her was captured by the New York Police Department through a call early Monday at the Millennium Hilton near the United Nations in Manhattan. According to an incident report by Fox News, 23-year-old Kevin Porter left his 26-year-old girlfriend with a fractured neck vertebra and a deep cut above her right eye. The report further said that Kevin Porter repeatedly attacked her until covered with blood. Gondrezick was able to escape Kevin Porter’s abuse when she ran out through the hotel’s hallway.

As per a criminal complaint via Associated Press, Gondrezick claimed that Kevin Porter struck her many times in the face using his closed fist giving her substantial pain and bruising, which marked her inches-long gash above the right eye. Gondrezick added that Kevin Porter also wrapped his hands around her neck, and strangled her, causing difficulty in breathing, redness, and bruising to her neck as well as a loss of motion to her left arm.

Reports said that Kevin Porter and Gondrezick began dating last year in February. Meanwhile, Houston Rockets said on Monday that they are carefully looking into the incident involving Kevin Porter and refused to give more comment at the moment.

Kevin Porter’s Charges

Kevin Porter was taken into police custody on Monday around 6:45 a.m. However, Kevin Porter posted his bail at $75,000 cash or $100,000 bond but he was given a restraining order from Gondrezick. Kevin Porter pleaded not guilty to felony assault and strangulation charges during his arraignment on Tuesday. There will be a court order for Kevin Porter in Manhattan on October 16.
