Bail Hearing of NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s Murder Case

According to Nj1015, Middlesex County Assistant Prosecutor Amber Gibbs presented compelling evidence during the hearing of the NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder case.

She revealed that investigators of the NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder case had gathered proof through cell phone pings and E-ZPass activity that placed Bynum in New Jersey on the night of February 1 when Dwumfour was fatally shot.

Prosecutors claimed to have discovered 14 shell casings at the crime scene that matched a firearm found in Bynum’s possession, as asserted by Dwumfour family attorney and former legislator John Wisniewski.

However, what should have been a routine bail hearing took an unexpected turn. The judge, citing “overwhelming evidence” against Bynum, denied bail.

Victim’s Mother Charges in NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s Murder Case

As the proceedings of the NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder case concluded, the victim’s mother Mary Dwumfour was detained and handcuffed.

She faced charges of disorderly conduct, a development deemed “unfortunate” by Attorney John Wisniewski, who expressed concerns about the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office’s handling of the situation.

Intriguingly, the court session revealed the relationship between Bynum and the Dwumfour family. Mary Dwumfour had reportedly recruited Bynum into a church and Bible study organization known as Fire Congress Fellowship, a connection formed when they both resided in Virginia.

Bynum later relocated to Sayreville, where Mary Dwumfour frequently lived with other church members. However, the motive behind the NJ Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour’s murder case remained undisclosed during the hearing.

The arrest of Rashid Ali Bynum came nearly four months after the tragic death of Eunice Dwumfour, who had been serving on the Sayreville Borough Council.

Investigators disclosed that Bynum and Dwumfour knew each other, although the extent of their relationship remained unclear. The only apparent link between them was their association with the church that Dwumfour attended.
