Chandrayaan-3’s camera has been created to navigate the mission’s Vikram lander to find a safe landing area as the Chandrayaan-3 plunges onto the lunar surface.

On July 14, Chandrayaan-3 dove into a highly elliptical Earth orbit as it slowly steps up its orbit before launching itself to the moon’s track.

On August 5, Chandrayaan-3 experienced engine burns as it proceeded to the lunar orbit.

Chandrayaan-3 will be India’s third attempt to land on the moon after Chandrayaan-2 in 2019 and Chandrayaan-1 in 2009.
