New York City cancer doctor, Dr. Krystal Cascetta, tragically ended her own life and that of her baby in what authorities believe to be a murder-suicide at their Westchester residence on a Saturday morning, as the New York Post reported.

Dr. Krystal Cascetta, a 40-year-old Hematology-Oncology specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital, was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and her child was also fatally shot according to CBS News.
The heartbreaking incident took place in their Somers home, a property estimated at $1 million that Dr. Krystal Cascetta shared with her husband, Tim Talty, aged 37. Although the exact age of the child remains undisclosed, social media hints that the baby was born around March.
Dr. Krystal Cascetta was recognized for her compassion and care towards patients, garnering awards during her time at both Albany Medical College and Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine. Dr. Krystal Cascetta specialized in breast cancer research at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where she had a significant impact.
While the hospital declined to provide a statement regarding the incident, Dr. Krystal Cascetta’s tragic death has left her colleagues, friends, and family deeply saddened. Her husband, Tim Talty, owns Talty Bars, a protein bar company.
