On June 28, at the Glenview Country Club in The Villages in Florida, a confrontation between Robert Edward Moore Jr., 76, and Dean William Zook, 87, happened when Zook accidentally hit a car that Moore Jr. believed was his.

According to Vacchiano, Zook admitted to the accident and asked to exchange insurance information with Moore Jr. However, the latter allegedly struck Zook in the jaw with a closed fist and pushed him backward. When the aggravated manslaughter suspect realized the vehicle that was hit did not belong to him, he left thereafter.

During an interview with authorities, however, Zook began to stammer and became unsteady. He was then immediately transported to a local hospital where doctors found out that his brain was bleeding. Unfortunately, Zook passed away on July 16 which was a day before his 88th birthday.
