In 2020, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office brought charges against former Columbia University OB GYN Robert Hadden, now 64, in connection with the four women he lured to sexual abuse. The prosecution had evidence of up to 310 acts of sexual abuse inflicted on at least 154 patients of the former Columbia University OB GYN.However, an article in New York Daily News states that the former Columbia University OB GYN avoided jail time when he was convicted on state charges by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Fortunately, in January, the former Columbia University OB GYN was convicted during a trial with hundreds of victims stepping forward with accusations.
Former Columbia University OB GYN’s Sentencing
Ultimately, according to del Valle, on July 25, the former Columbia University OB GYN faced charges of four counts of enticement and inducement to travel to engage in unlawful sexual activity. Manhattan District Judge Richard Berman sentenced the former Columbia University OB GYN to a total of 20 years in federal prison, required a term of lifetime supervision, and imposed a $10,000 fine.
On the other hand, the former Columbia University OB GYN asked to be sentenced to no more than 3 years, arguing that he had already paid for his crimes in the District Attorney’s case.
