Teen Shooting Suspect Sentenced
According to an article in AP News, on July 24, a jury sentenced the teen shooting suspect, now 19, to 12 years in prison after being found guilty of attempted capital murder at Timberview High School in Arlington, Texas. During the trial’s punishment phase, the teen shooting suspect took the witness stand and reportedly stated that he understood that what he did was wrong.
Nonetheless, the shooting suspect repeatedly claimed that he carried the weapon at school only to defend himself. Further reports say the teen shooting suspect had faced up to life in prison after he was convicted by a jury in Tarrant County last week.
