Rex Heuermann was captured on Google Street View more than a year before he was arrested in 2023. Reports say the suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders was talking with a woman near his office on Fifth Avenue.

In June 2022, a Google Street View photo captured Rex Heuermann casually talking with a woman near his office on the East 36th Street of Fifth Avenue. Reports say that the Google photos were first discovered by online sleuths.

Coincidentally, according to Rosenberg, more than a year later, on July 13, Heuermann was arrested on the same street outside his office after being accused of killing sex workers in Gilgo Beach. Further reports say the victims of the Gilgo Beach murders were Amber Costello, 27, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, 25, Melissa Barthelemy, 24, and Megan Waterman, 22.

Charges Against Gilgo Beach Murders Suspect

According to Algar, in 2010, the remains of the victims of the Gilgo Beach murders were discovered wrapped in burlap. Authorities linked Heuermann to the Gilgo Beach murders through DNA, his Chevy Avalanche, and cellphone records. Nonetheless, the Gilgo Beach murders suspect did not plead guilty to three counts each of first and second-degree murder but is being held without bail to date.
