Tragedy struck Glastenbury as a car crash claimed the life of a Bennington woman. Dorothy Oshea, 71, was a passenger in the vehicle involved in the incident, according to Vermont State Police.
Why Did Bennington Woman Ejected From the Car?
The crash occurred on July 16, around 7:30 a.m., on Route 7 near the Glastenbury Road underpass, News 10 ABC reported. Authorities noted that heavy rain was present at the time of the accident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the car was traveling north on Route 7 when it veered out of its lane, colliding with the guardrails. As a result, the Bennington woman, Oshea, who was seated in the back seat, was ejected from the vehicle. Tragically, the Bennington woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene to assist. The Bennington woman was transported to Albany Medical Center, but unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead. Both the driver and another passenger emerged from the crash uninjured.
