On June 30, as the second fundraising quarter ended, former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence‘s presidential campaign raised less than $1.2 million only. Pence’s adviser stated that the former Vice President is falling far behind his Republican rivals who reported much larger funds.

An article in KRDO states that Pence presidential campaign began on the first week of June which left the former Vice President with only around three weeks of the second quarter’s fundraising period. Pence presidential campaign did not disclose whether the donor threshold to be eligible for the Republican presidential debate was met.

Reports say the Republican National Committee established the threshold at 40,000 unique donors with at least 200 donors per state or territory in 20 or more U.S. states. Nonetheless, despite entering the presidential race behind schedule, the Pence presidential campaign vows to work hard to reach the threshold.
