Jesus Gonzalez was charged with killing three different individuals in separate incidents within 24 hours. However, to date, the investigation of the murder suspect is still ongoing.
On January 9, at around 1:45 p.m., the Las Vegas Fire Department responded to reports of a fire in the 3800 block of East Charleston Boulevard. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters discovered a woman suffering from stab wounds inside a burning apartment. Unfortunately, the woman was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.According to Wehner, the incident consequently prompted the LVMPD homicide unit to conduct an investigation of an apparent murder suspect. On January 8, at around 5:30 p.m., authorities also responded to reports of an unresponsive woman inside a house on North 17th St. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities discovered a woman who sustained a gunshot wound and was declared dead at the scene as well.
Lastly, on January 9, at 2:45 a.m., authorities again responded to reports of a shooting on Franklin Avenue where they discovered a man on the streets suffering from gunshot wounds. Like the two female victims, the man was also declared dead at the scene.
Charges Against Murder Suspect
According to McCandless, the authorities eventually identified the murder suspect as Jesus Gonzalez, 42. On January 13, the murder suspect was arrested in California and booked in prison in Los Angeles before being extradited to Clark County in Nevada.
On February 16, the murder suspect was rebooked on the charges of open murder with a deadly weapon. In addition, last July 7, the murder suspect was once again rebooked on a third charge. In total, the murder suspect faced charges of three counts of open murder with a lethal weapon.
