Universal Basic Income In Denver
Andrew Yang had once supported universal basic income as the COVID pandemic disturbed the economy and forced millions of Americans out of a job in 2020, CNBC reported.
The philosophy called “universal basic income” became Andrew Yang’s main goal when he ran for president in 2020.
The Yang pushed for the program in Denver this week and stated those people who benefited from the universal basic income program are” invigorating and heartwarming.”
Yang was in Denver to show his support for a basic income the city has supported COVID-19 relief money.
9NEWS reported that Denver’s city council voted to give the nonprofit Denver Basic Income Project $2 million late last year as part of a pilot program that will run through the end of 2023.
The University Of Denver Is Currently Studying The Universal Basic Income Program
The University of Denver is currently analyzing the program to observe the impact of unconditional money on people in hardship.
The universal basic income program is currently giving more than 805 people monthly payments, with some getting up to $1,000 per payment for a year.
