Law enforcement agencies in northwestern Pennsylvania have launched a manhunt for a 34-year-old homicide suspect who escaped from the Warren County Jail late Thursday night.
Homicide Suspect Escaped From Pennsylvania Jail
According to Warren City Police Department, the homicide suspect Michael Charles Burham was discovered missing on Friday morning, CBS News reported. Burham was being held on charges of arson and burglary, and he is also a suspect in a homicide investigation. Additionally, officials believe he is connected to a carjacking and kidnapping incident that occurred in May.
Reports suggest that Burham, the homicide suspect managed to escape by climbing down from the jail’s roof using bed sheets he tied together. Warren County spokesperson Cecile Stelter described him as a “self-taught survivalist with military experience” during a news conference held by the Pennsylvania State Police.
Law enforcement authorities have reason to believe that Burham is still in the general area, potentially hiding in the nearby woods. They consider him to be armed and dangerous due to his criminal history, and there is a possibility that he has acquired a firearm.
