The body of missing Mexican journalist Luis Martín Sanchez Iniguez, 59 years old, was discovered in the Mexican state of Nayarit. The state public prosecutor’s office confirmed on Saturday that Sanchez Iniguez’s body was found showing signs of violence.
Body of Missing Mexican Journalist Found Dead
Missing Mexican journalist Sanchez Iniguez, known for his work at the newspaper La Jornada, had been missing since Wednesday, prompting his wife to file a missing persons report with Mexican authorities on Friday.
The body of the missing Mexican journalist was discovered on the outskirts of the city of Tepic, although the exact cause of his death remains unclear. However, authorities estimated that his death occurred between 24 to 48 hours prior to the discovery of his body, U.S. News reported.

Other Missing Mexican Journalists
The discovery of the missing Mexican journalist’s body follows the ongoing investigation of two other potential crimes targeting media workers in Nayarit.
Another missing Mexican journalist, identified as Osiris Maldonado, was reported missing on July 4 after he failed to return home from work at a local school and authorities are actively searching for him.
Additionally, on July 7, missing Mexican journalist Jonathan Lora Ramirez was also abducted from his apartment by two armed men who wore hoods. Fortunately, Lora Ramirez has been found alive and in good health. The authorities are now investigating the incident as a case of illegal detention.
Authorities in Nayarit wasted no time in initiating investigations once these cases or missing Mexican journalists were reported.
