The Philadelphia Shooting
It is believed that the suspect of the Philadelphia shooting was a 40-year-old man and it was found that he was just randomly shooting at the incident nor he had any connection to the victims. Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw also claimed that the suspect was wearing a bulletproof vest and a police scanner.
A second person was also taken into custody in connection with the shooting, Danielle said. However, was still unclear whether the second person was linked with the shooter, but police believe he exchanged fire with the shooter.
Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw spoke to the media at a briefing claiming that the officers chased the suspect while he continued to fire and he was arrested after surrendering in an alley.
There were three guns recovered from the scene, the suspect had including an AR-type rifle and a handgun, and a police scanner, that belonged to the suspect, she said at the conference.
Reuters reported that the three dead victims of the Philadelphia shooting are all males and their ages are ranging between 20- and 59 years old. The fourth man was believed to be between the ages of 16 to 21. The two injured children are two and 13-year-olds and both were in stable condition, Outlaw said.
Details of the July Fourth Eve gun violence were still a blur, but the shooting was reported to have started in the Kingsessing section of southwest Philadelphia, less than a mile away from the Schuylkill River that flows through Pennsylvania’s most populous city.
