Authorities released a video footage of the shooting in Allen Premium Outlets where the suspect was shot dead by an officer. Unfortunately, the Texas mall shooting left eight individuals killed, including two elementary school students.
On May 6, a police officer from the Allen Police Department was responding to an unrelated report when the Texas mall shooting happened. The officer was apparently wearing a body camera that has captured footage of what happened during the shooting.According to Gimbel, the video footage of the Texas mall shooting showed the officer running toward the gunshots in an attempt to neutralize the threat. Around four minutes into the footage, the officer was seen raising his weapon and shooting at someone in the distance. After several gunshots and another minute later, the officer was seen approaching the suspect and declaring he was brought down.

Texas Mall Shooting Footage
An article in CNN states that the suspect was later identified as Mauricio Garcia, 33. On June 26, the Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office of Collin County presented evidence to the grand jury regarding the Allen police officer’s use of force during the Texas mall shooting.
However, on June 27, after reviewing the investigation, the grand jury returned a “no bill” which suggests that the use of force was justified under the laws of Texas. As a result, the police officer was ultimately cleared.
