Police are searching for a man riding a moped in connection with an alleged hate crime where a 77-year-old Jewish man is shaken after an apparent antisemitic attack in Williamsburg.
Man On Moped Threw Box Cutter At 77-Year-Old Jewish Man
The Jewish man who would like to hide his identity and ask to be called CZ says that the attack happened in a flash.
The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force released images Tuesday of the suspect in Monday evening’s assault at Broadway and Rutledge Street.
ABC7 news reported that the suspect is riding a moped scooter allegedly screamed, effing Jew, and then threw an open box cutter at the Jewish man’s face as he sat in his car on Broadway Monday afternoon. The victim was standing in front of a restaurant when that incident happened, police sources said.
The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries.

The Police Are Asking Anyone To Report Tips In Connection With The Suspect
The suspect fled the scene after the hate crime incident. The video displays him riding a moped scooter in the area around the time of the attack.
Anti-Semitic attacks are down 23.80 percent as of June 25 with 112 incidents this year versus 147 at this point last year.
