EBT payments in Georgia are scheduled from June 5-23. But, several recipients are reporting that they didn’t receive their payments yet and they are waiting for months.
According to the Georgia Department of Human Services, the cause of the delay is the federal regulators. On the other hand, they are now working as quickly as possible to get all the renewals and applications to be processed. The department added that they are hampered by requirements and federal rules that prevent them from processing all the necessary documents.
The Georgia DHS also said that federal regulators denied Georgia a waiver that allows technology to assist processes like SNAP interviews that can be used for other welfare programs like Medicaid.
