Two proposals introduced in Minnesota are intended to provide up to $1,200 in Stimulus Check 2023 for the residents. Reports say these proposals will financially assist families with payments every month.
SUPPORT Act
Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar supported a proposal introduced for a national income program in Minnesota. Reports say the proposal is named the “SUPPORT Act” which intends to distribute a Stimulus Check 2023 worth $1,200 to eligible adults every month for 5 years. On the other hand, eligible children will receive $600.
According to Notheis, the SUPPORT Act is built on the the successful guaranteed income pilot programs from other local governments across the U.S. Omar also adds that the Stimulus Check 2023 will provide an income floor for every resident of Minnesota.

End Child Poverty Act
Omar also supported a proposal reintroduced to replace the Child Tax Credit and the Earned Income Tax Credit in Minnesota. Reports say the proposal was reintroduced in April by Omar, along with other Democratic Representatives Jesus Garcia of Illinois and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan.
According to Bizouati-Kennedy, the proposal is named the “End Child Poverty Act” which intends to distribute a Stimulus Check 2023 worth $393 for every eligible child a family has every month. The checks will reportedly be distributed by the Social Security Administration (SSA). Furthermore, the program will automatically enroll children after birth and would not phase-in or phase-out any income.
