Rhode Island man who shot and killed two people before escaping from the scene and being fatally shot by police Wednesday, authorities said.

Rhode Island Man Who Shot To Death 2 People And Injured 1 Minor

Wednesday, around 7:30 in the morning a victim was found in the suspect’s home and another was found in a neighbor’s home according to a police report. The dispute was between neighbors. It said that the Rhode Island man was seen peering into a neighbor’s window earlier in the week which sparked the killings.

The victims’ identity was kept private as of the moment but,  WPRI reported that one of the victims was the suspect’s mother who lived with him at 4 Ligian Court, while the other was an adult who lived next door and the last victim was a juvenile aged 15-year-old girl who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The incident occurred in Johnston, a town of about 30,000 located 11 miles west of Providence, Rhode Island.

When police responded to the residential area where to the initial shooting happened, multiple police departments were involved in a car chase following an SUV toward a nearby highway, authorities said.

The Rhode Island Man Was Shot The Killed By The Police

According to Cranston Police Chief Michael Winquist, the suspect was identified as James Harrison, 52 years old. After the shooting, he escape from the scene with his vehicle and was spotted about 9:30 a.m. by Cranston police. However, the Rhode Island man was shot and killed by police after a car chase in an interaction that involved dozens of gunshots.

New York Post reported that No officers were hurt during the chase. Rhode Island State Police Col. Darnell Weaver confirmed that the suspect was shot and killed at the scene by a police officer. The state attorney general’s office is investigating law enforcement’s use of deadly weapons, which is standard protocol, an office spokesperson said.
