A recent NYC subway news reveals that in a New York Post interview, Daniel Penny breaks his silence over the death of Jordan Neely. The ex-Marine denied any accusations that the incident had something to do with the victim’s race.
A recent NYC subway news reveals that on May 20, a New York Post interview published that Daniel Penny, 24, has broken his silence over the death of Jordan Neely, 30. Penny was the ex-Marine who put the homeless Black man in a chokehold which caused the latter’s death earlier in May.According to Vacchiano, Penny faced criminal charges over the incident but denied any accusations that he was a white supremacist. Penny reportedly insisted that the incident where he restrained Neely has nothing to do with his race. In addition, Penny claimed that he was actually planning on a road trip in Africa before the incident.

Update on the NYC Subway News
According to Kennedy‘s update on the NYC subway news, on May 1, Penny was on his way to the gym when Neely started yelling and acting erratically in the subway car they were in. Penny allegedly intervened only to protect himself and the other passengers by restraining Neely.
To date, authorities are still trying to determine to what extent Neely was a threat to the passengers in the subway car. On the other hand, Penny is scheduled to be back in court in July. Reports say if Penny is convicted, he could spend a maximum of 15 years in prison.
